Board of Directors

Board members are unpaid volunteers who serve on the Board due to their passion for the school and its mission. Board members serve three-year terms, for a maximum of six years.

Albert DuPont - President

Albert P. DuPont, Ed.D., is an accomplished educator, entrepreneur, and executive coach with nearly 35 years of experience in leadership, strategic planning, and organizational development. As the founder of Spaces of Pride and TraxMethod, he specializes in providing tailored coaching, training, and support to businesses, nonprofits, and educational institutions nationwide. Dr. DuPont's expertise spans workforce development, leadership training, and program innovation, with a strong commitment to fostering inclusion and equity. A proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, he actively supports diverse organizations through board service and chamber memberships. Passionate about the arts, Dr. DuPont brings his leadership acumen and creative vision to the Washington Studio School, enriching its mission to cultivate artistic expression and education.

Melissa Wyers - Treasurer

Melissa Wyers is a recognized leader in nonprofit technology, fundraising and administration working with clients ranging from Feeding America to the American Cancer Society to Planned Parenthood. As President of Breakthrough Strategies, she helps organizations meet and exceed their annual revenue budgets.  Previously she was the Executive Director of EveryAction helping nonprofits meet their technology needs. She is a graduate of Emory University with a B.A. in Political Science and Art History.  She has a Masters and ABD from the University of Maryland in International Comparative Politics.  She is a current student at WSS and a former Peace Corps Volunteer in Morocco.
 

Peggy Greene - Secretary

Peggy Greene has been a long-time student at Washington Studio School and is a graduate of the school’s Master Certificate Program. Her work has been included in  shows at Washington Studio School and in galleries in Tavira, Portugal, and Baltimore, MD. She graduated from Smith College with a degree in English and from Georgetown University Law School. After a judicial clerkship, she practiced communications law with a trade association, in private practice, and with the Federal Communications Commission. A native of Pittsburgh, PA, she lives in Washington, DC.
