This course is designed for students who have completed three levels of Introduction to Painting and are now ready to challenge themselves by pushing observational skills into more expressive mark-making and considering abstraction within representation. Students will be working intensively from various resources which include historical references, live models, and elaborate still-life set-ups, all of which are designed to propel the individual’s visual problem-solving skills and paint application onto the next level. Students will also further their technical understanding of the capabilities of paint and mediums.
